I was going to upload my screen capture of this, but apparently you can't upload things directly to the Steam community. Either way: let's all share our hilariously dumb deaths. I've had so many.

My last spectacular ****-up was in the holy mountain after finishing the second level. I had the rain cloud summoning spell in a wand and tried to combine it with the horizontal path spell. I did this by removing the electric torch from my one wand without shuffle, for then to insert the spells I wanted to test.

No luck. The cloud remained stationary as it rained water over me. Without thinking, I moved the cloud back to the torch I usually had it assigned ot, and the electric torch back to the wand it had been in. Which was of course still my active wand.

Yeah. The water I stood in was instantly electrified and I died before I even understood what was happening.

This is common. Usually though, you get to SEE the polymorphine pooling up elsewhere so you can be like "Oh, yeah should've been paying more attention before digging through the ground". This time though apparently it was a speck of it from somewhere far away that had been mixed with water falling from above. Freeze field making ice walls behind me didn't help. Probably a one in a million death.

Why is it silly? I got roasted. As a fish.

i havent looked up any guides or anything, generally i'm going pretty blind.

This was 11 hours into a good game

In Hiisi base just picked up the multi leg perk (the one that doesn't let you fly) I was going to the level below via portal.

The portal area was submerged in water, I hit the water hard because I couldn't fly and sunk to the bottom. There were just enough pixels of Chaotic Polymorphine in the pool of water to turn me into a Fire Spirit. Instant death, run dead, don't mess with Polymorphine.

This doesn't really count, since I survived, but it was hilarious nonetheless.

I was in the snow caves, chucking bombs at that creature that launches rock spirits. The first bomb hit its mark, but the second somehow landed on, and stayed on, one of the rock spirits, which proceeded to bring it closer to me as it advanced on me. Luckily I managed to dodge the blast, but it would've been my most hilarious death so far had it actually killed me.

I had a fun wand that could dump 30 rock spirits onto a single spot. Those things are pretty fantastic in bulk. Also had infinite healing that was powerful enough to let me just stand in the cursed rock wall. Wasn't any enemy that killed me, but my own greed.

I uhh, didn't know that new game+ failed to happen if you had too many orbs.. I had 14 so... now I know! lol

As someone who has never managed to rack up enough health to get through the rock wall... what was this method of healing?

2x Glass Cannon perk (obviously didn't read the description of this) and a wand with the gigantic death cross spell

Don't.

Found the wand in Hisii Base and everything but the metal simply ceased to exist.

And then there's the newbie phase when you think "ooh, maybe I can blow the bottom out of that huge reservoir of glowy/shiny goop and drown those nasties hiding below? Yeah, good idea!".
... Only problem was, I didn't really expect them to turn into even NASTIER cave dwellers that promptly vaporized me in spectacular, explody fashion.

Very good first floor, lot of gold and rich wands, but beaten up by fungi tho, yet was alive

Had to dig down, but because of starting wands randomization, I forgot I had fireball intead of bombs, and shot under myself

Just had a rather nice death. Couldn't be mad at all, just left me in pure wonder of it.

In the Vault, so I had a decent enough build with a basic bouncing shot that had +74 damage homing, and 30% crit chance. Nothing survived long and it should have been a great start to getting back to the surface and finally get to doing an all orb run. But I also had another wand that was too fun to not use.

Bouncing shot, and an always cast fireball thrower. Anything it tagged would straight up murder itself and anything around it! That want got me through 3 floors with ease and it was almost no threat to myself with both fire and explosion immunity. But in the Vault those crystals made using that wand a death wish.

I used that wand. Tagged a small purple crystal off screen. And it rocketed itself directly to me through random explosions and promptly nuked in my face. Instant death.

Sooner or later I'll get that orb run.

my dumbest death was just after i put a lightning spell on my wand. i didn't realize it can electrocute water even without being used and just while you are holding it...

I enter the snowy caverns area and drop down to my right, see a goblin jumping toward me holding a wand. I blast him as quickly as possible and manage to catch that wand in mid-air. While everything is paused, I see that Earthquake is in the first slot of this wand. "Oh, I hope I got him before he could fire this," I think to myself, and as soon as I unpause, I'm immediately obliterated by a piece of falling brickwork that drops in from the top of the screen.

Maybe not a -dumb- death, but definitely the funniest one, to me, that I've had in a while.
