Question about Munkii quest - SPOILERS

Hi guys, smol question about the Munkii (kick the stone hands) quest - I know during this quest you need to kick 3 of those, you get a broken spell, you repair it on the hiisi base and use it on a specific point pointed at to by 4 status.
My question is, how is a normal player supposed to know to use this spell in that specific point... ? I mean, I do understand you draw the line from the staves and use it at the intersection, but how are you supposed to make the connection that this portal spell is related to those statues? Isn't the "logic thread" of this quest a little farfetched, or I've missed some obvious hints as to why this was the logic thing to do?

Essentially what I want to know is: how was I supposed to figure it out?!

The statues in the Jungle biome are each marked with a hand symbol near the bottom, just like the ones you find in the Frozen biome. That's the connection. Now I'm not 100% sure, but some of the hints for long quests were added later on in the game development. So what is somewhat obvious now didn't even exist some months ago.
