Noita

Why are perks deliberately catastrophic?
"Loki minion", that sounds fun, what could go wrong?

*gets sprayed by goo while trying to penetrate cursed rock between parallel worlds*

Seriously? This game deliberately kills the player in stupid ways. Why not just add a 1% chance of instantly dying any time you pick up any perk? Because, you know, you' got NOITA'D!

Time to uninstall. Again.

For one you dont need a single perk to win or do a godrun. Real critical thing is add mana spell mod, reduced life time spell mod (two or more) + small teleport. Then you need either a alphabet spell with one black hole spell or a wand with like 5-26 black hole spells for a black hole wand. Then you run around grabbing orbs. (if previously collected they boost hp instead) then if your worried you will still die crossing worlds you grab the healing gourds, use black hole, then use gourd to heal and gradually inch a longer hole. Increase max hp perk can be good to save for later so you can use it after getting all orbs to increase chances of survival crossing worlds.

Then of course ambrosia is also a usually safer option.

I really wouldnt advice doing advanced noita stuff without guides or a noita map on easy zoom. I found one that is fully annotated and i use it even with nearly 2k hours. Without super advanced wand building you need to do long treks across the map to do stuff so if you hate just going in a direction for a long period of time maybe dont bother with the parallel world stuff.

I also realized patience with noita is just not worth it sometimes. If i spawn in go down to entrance and see 3-5 stendari i just restart. As a player with 1.8k hours I have decided some things arent worth putting up with. Another example is snowy wastes and hissii base which are complete cancer with severely unbalanced enemies and GARBAGE loot tables I have probably gotten something worth the dangers in the snow biome, like three times in my 1.8k hours. The only 'safe' way to collect loot in that biome is digging; until you hit a ice canister and get killed instantaneously.

Last note is I quit for a few months starting out because I was so jaded and angry at game then came back and played it for a straight year. My take is anger towards the game is normal.

In other words, instead of trying to beat the game, try to go out as spectacularly (or stupidly) as possible for a few runs.
Like 10 or so, in a row. Get creative with your purposeful deaths.

I sorta did this for smash ultimate when I was struggling online. Instead of fighting normally, I gave myself weird win conditions like 'avoid getting hit' and I mean that in the most cowardly way possible. :)

The creative process of pushing myself to new means dramatically improved my ability to play the game and now I'm a Smash god. The situations forced me to carefully observe my actions in relation to the opponent who is, in high-level play, usually predicting in real-time where I'm moving/acting. Since the goal was to avoid and not to win, I could let my frustrations go and experiment to see how long I can last... which movements throw my opponent off... Getting hit was an important part of learning all of that, and oddly enough it became fun to be hit towards the end as eventually I became the same predicting machine my opponents were and it was becoming more difficult to be hit with my restrictions.

I did this with Noita, too. Stopped playing with wands because they were frustrating me. I wanted to be able to kill things by utilizing the environment around me for when I had stinky spells so I tossed my wands outside the mountain and started kicking everything and eventually became a physics god. I'm pretty friggin good at splashing water y'know :VBCOOL: Now when I combine the two playstyles, I still die to my own wands when I forgot about an explosive aspect and I have glass canon active (which results in belly-puffing gafaws), but at least I can get around farther with my ol' reliable tablet or random rocks. Until the jungle, that is... >:(

This is what worked for me though and just doesn't cover the experience enough. Part of your Noita journey (and I'd argue life journey as it's a wonderful skill to learn) will be exploring how you can let go of your frustrations and continue to grow, as no one can provide that for you but yourself. I believe in you!
Limitation, indeed, often breeds excellence.

But in this case I want OP just to unwind a little. Noita is so full of willfully obscure stuff, that it can sometimes trap a normal, functioning human who means well in an imbalanced relationship.

An ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game vs a regular human.
So, I'm suggesting to realize that the game's a bastard on purpose and just having fun a bit, killing that dumb witch, the noita, on purpose, spectacularily.

The game wants the witch dead? Then give the game what it wants, and make it creative.

I played Rain World once, and got stuck in a sewer region, dying over and over to leeches. I haven't gotten this mad at a videogame in a long time, lol.

So I drew a bunch of slugcats getting killed by leeches on purpose, calling them dumb.
Afterwards, I made it through that section no problem, cause my tunnel vision of rage lifted and I could see not only the nooks for getting air, but also figured out how to swim in a way that makes it harder for leeches to follow.

(Note: I do not endorse that game anymore. Unless you're into profoundly gay things. then by all means, go for it)

Anyway, there's no Noita police, winning the game normally by killing the boss is anemic anyway, by design, and there's so much to do (including tedium) that getting frustrated from the 'mild stuff' is a bit unfortunate.

And I do think it comes from Noita just not respecting fairness. So, unravel a bit, and try killing the witch in a way that doesn't leave a single pixel of terrain on the current screen.
And then several more deaths that go nuts.

Which, again, takes skill. If you just die to some hiisis in the cave like a chump 20 times, then that's not very exciting.
Going out in a blaze of glory (or a totally inane rube goldberg contraption), now, that's actually kind of rewarding.

Make sure to enable the replay in the options to keep it all for posterity.

i like to think it's a game that appreciates it's own universe. you are an explorer wizard who found a cave full of wonders and disasters in a world that doesn't hold your hand. i like to think the "perks" are things that either the natives or the gods made out of boredom or to explore the possibilities, and so, some of the experiments are bad or self destructive, this is something you learn with experience. not every game has to only have good perks. the game wouldn't have as much to do if every mountain was always good perks, you would never get the underdog wins or the clutch victories feelings or satisfaction of learning new things,

also don't be afraid to just read the wiki about everything, i still enjoy the game after doing that, i just play for fun. the more you know what works together and how to solve situations the less bad runs you will have.

did you know, If you put recoil on a chainsaw you can fly for free by aiming the opposite direction if you have enough chainsaws and mana or make it cost no mana

i have anger issues myself but this is exactly the type of game i love because i can prove im more cautious and careful and less stupid than most people, a lot of people hate the lukki legs but i love em. grab em every time i can, makes the run more unique and rewarding when i win because it changes the way you play, i wish there were more movement changing perks.

Just because you find something doesn't mean you have to touch it. when you play noita you should have a goal in mind. one run you might say, " lets try new things or see what that object does i saw last run but i didn't blindly touch out of pure ignorance and then whine on the forums about" and another run you might say ok this is a tryhard run, don't mess with anything i don't know enough about until i have tons of defense and healing or until after i backup my save folder. (if you're ok with that) If something you touched killed you then that's just consequences of your own actions. just cuz the devs put it there doesn't mean it's their fault you fell for it.

i bet if you made this game it would be too boring for me to play.

i agree about other creatures angering the gods on your behalf. that one is dumb.

real life is way more complicated and difficult than this game is, if you can't handle playing this video game without crying i hope you're guardians are ok with you living off of them forever...
