One thing I have noticed is, extremely dense rock border seems to be always same. This can be used to scan areas both horizontal and vertical. As I said, I made an excel spreadsheet to track locations and collected orbs.
There's also "Guiding powder" but that seems to point to the nearest orb room, not closest uncollected orb.
I feel bit embarrassment for looking the map but to be honest I wouldn't have ever found all the orbs without.
My intention was to also complete the Sun Quest but sadly game crashed and halfway during progress destroying soon to be Dark Sun.
