Resistances are (off the top of my head):
- Melee.
- Toxic Sludge (But not toxic derivatives such as toxic rock or ice)
- Fire
- Explosive (Note some explosives such as lightning bolt do multiple types of damage)
- Shock (Available from both the resistance and electricity perk)
Note that there's no projectile resistance (although repulsion will render slower projectiles inane and shield may block some). There is no lava, poison, acid or freezing liquid/gas resistance.Lava can be countered by using lava->blood.
Freezing liquid evaporates into freezing gas which dissipates over time.
Poison and acid evaporate over time (acid having obvious side effects).
Both poison and acid have physical variant (poison + lava => Poison rock, acid + freezing => Frozen acid) which also do damage over time. Their evaporated counterparts are not dangerous (but both are flammable).
and if you don't have a wand with acid trail equipped, acid is such a situational hazard encountered so infrequently outside of the vault that it'd be almost useless a perk to take
it's pretty much one or the other with no in between
