How to kill the Ghost Leviathan?

I am attempting to kill the ghost leviathan and it's a staring contest. He barely ever attacks and I cannot hurt him. I am trying to apply the explosion weakening curse on him and then use lightning bolts, but I don't think the curse is even applying. I've tried putting the curse before a regular sparkbolt on a separate wand and on the wand with the lightning bolts. Absolutely nothing, no damage whatsoever.

Can anyone 1) explain how the curse is applied if it's not by just shooting them with a projectile that has the curse and 2) explain to me whether what I'm trying can even actually work?

I can't even remember how I killed this thing... maybe you need to actually do damage to apply a curse? Have you tried putting the curse between a Spark Bolt w. Trigger and a Chainsaw spell? Or on a Disc Projectile?

Anyway the thing does take 1% damage from Slice attacks, so if you have a trigger spell with 4 Chainsaws on it, you should be doing 0.5 damage per shot. With that many Chainsaws it's not hard to make a chaingun wand that fires 60 times per second, for 30 damage per second... you could just shoot that at it for 4 minutes straight to kill it too.

eh, I'm not sure. I used the projectile vulnerability curse on him, then ran away while my green bouncies did all the work.

If he isn't shooting back it means you aren't hitting him. Iirc he returns fire on each instance of damage.

I remember the water causing issues on my attempts w sparkbolt. The drag made them fizzle before they could get to him, even at near point-blank range.

His eye needs to be open to hurt him, you need to be close-ish for his eye to be open.
