Do a lot of people use mods?
Not cheaty mods but more so QoL changes, more content, cosmetic changes, etc...

I was thinking about using this one, but if I play with mods I'm assuming it'll disable achievements. If so is that all they disable?

EDIT: Also any recommended mods that still make the game feel vanilla?

"Edit Wands Always" mod. Basically teach players to experiment with spells and wand-builds more effectively.
"Noita RPG" - honestly, I just like the idea of it. More reason to hunt down enemies.

Also, as far as I know, mods only disable steam achievements but not "Tree pillars" achievements. Yeah, there are also several secrets (rooms/entities) which won't spawn with mods, but I don't think they are even solved yet, so it's not like you'll miss that much to be honest.

No mods will make it feel that much like vanilla, because that's brutal and punishing and any change to it takes away that feeling.

I know what you mean though. I love the base game. I absolutely love the way it plays, the wands, the random dungeons with reactive elements, the destructive environments, everything about how that plays I love. But I hate that it has no progression (basically, though getting to start with better wands and having health items be where some previously found wands otherwise would be is a help).

I've played all the way through rogue games before. I played through Wasted and won, but that was a game more based on your skill than random things. This one has a bit more randomness to it that allows you to be killed unexpectedly and randomness to if you get good perks early on.

The closest to not changing the feeling of the play when playing, I would probably say the save game one from the sounds of it. I don't know if it works because I haven't tried it, but there is a "save game" mod that says it enables a hidden save feature that the devs made but never enabled (I think that's what it says anyway).

This would let you save anywhere, and basically have that same exact gameplay as you're supposed to have when playing, but you could just go back to where you saved instead of going back to start the entire thing over every time.

I am eventually going to install it myself, because I think it will save me a lot of frustration while still letting me play a game I really enjoy. I sure hope it's a working mod :D

*Edit - This just enabled save slots so you can have multiple worlds going at once. It wasn't save slots that let you save when you wanted, like I had hoped.

Interesting I might give that one a look too. I do enjoy the brutality and unforgiving nature of the game, I just doubt I'll ever get past the damn ice caves *facepalm* then again I haven't even played 10 hours of this game yet so I probably just need to get used to it.

Decided to roll with Noita RPG and Health Containers. Doesn't seem to break the game too much as I still do die lmfao. For Health Containers, I only have it set to where enemies drop 15HP only 15% of the time so it isn't super OP. That amount probably doesn't mean dog doo doo in later levels haha

I made it to the very start of Hiisi base and was able to deal with a few of the mobs no problem but then this weird f***ing floating thing came out of nowhere and KO'd me with a beam of blue light.

Yeah I looked at the save slot one, it's not what I was thinking :D It just allows multiple worlds to be played at once, each using a save slot.

There *is* another save one that says it uses checkpoints and stuff and saves, I'll test that one next.

Now I'm really wanting a Save State mod. Not one where you re-spawn in the same world (that one is very nice, but it makes it too easy), but one where you just can save where you want.

It would let you save the game and still go through the content just as difficult as it's supposed to be, but you'd get to re-do it from where you saved rather than from the very beginning each time.

This would have - A save game function with multiple save slots you could use to save wherever you wanted, and it would also auto-save at the sanctuaries in separate auto save slots (in case you messed something up and had to re-start at one of them). Possibly you could add a function to auto-save every 5 minutes as well.

I don't know if something like that already exists? If it does can somebody please let me know the name of it so I can go look it up?

For me it was fun to play with mods before I understood how the game works. I played like 10 hrs and thought i need hp containers, edit wands everywhere, checkpoints mode and other stuff. Welp, i was wrong, i deleted the game soon after, because it became boring (after a while). Now i have 200hrs without mods and i still didn’t complete all quests i wanted.
If you need to heal yourself - use healers in Hiisi base. Let them swim in pheromone, or find a static canon, punch it and stay between healer and canon. Take an “experimental wand” perk, or find spells that heal you.
If you want to edit wands - find a spell to dig a hole through a holly mountain (luminous drill, black hole, etc) and fly through the hole. HM won’t be destroyed and you will can edit wands there. But be sure you are ready to kill Steve.
