Eating?
Found out you can eat bodies and drink liquids after using the "Vampire" perk. If you hold the down movement key over bodies or puddles you will eat/drink them.

For "Vampire" this is useful for drinking blood to gain health, however are there other reasons to eat/drink without associations to perks? Been eating bodies and drinking water and it doesn't seem to do anything.

I know worm blood has night vision ability. Eating lava and stuff does nothing though, unless you drink it from bottle, then you get poisoned/killed.

If you need to cross water that you can't swim through for risk of drowning (like in the Twisty Cave entrance ), you can just drink some of it to get through.

You can also eat pink pixels that grow in the collapsed mines and fungus caverns called fungus when you mouse over it. It'll make everything cycle through colors and muffle/warp all sounds as if you are high as ♥♥♥♥. The more you eat the faster it cycles!

No actual benefit though as far as I know. Just makes everything look trippy.

you don't need the vampire perk to drink, you can hold down any time

It doesn't do anything other than get the body or liquid out of the way, with the exception of a select few things like worm blood.

Also, if you ever take/plan to take vampiric again, make absolutely sure you bring a chainsaw or drill with you.

I'm thinking eating corpses will become a thing in the future. Already, corpse materials are working: meat which eventually spoils and turn to rotten meat. Ghoul perk soon?

How do you drink from a bottle?

Right click on a flask with inventory open, but the results aren't generally what you'd expect. Drinking oil or slime will hit you with a 2-damage DoT 6 times. Drinking lava kills you, which is expected, but drinking invisiblium does nothing at all (btw, great flask to pick up if you need an empty one). Drinking things that apply a status to you applies that status for a far shorter time than would normally be the case, but it doesn't show that you're affected by such status (teleportatium only hits you twice if you drink it, drunkenness from whiskey lasts for only a few moments). Polymorphine still acts exactly the same (and drinking it to change will wipe any status effect you have). Drinking pheromone does basically nothing, so that's another good one if you want an empty flask.

Most importantly: drinking blood or blood mist from a flask does absolutely nothing for your vampirism perk.

Sounds like a useless ability. Is there any other purpose than to empty a flask quickly without needing to spray it?

At the moment, not really, outside of a few exceptions like the polymorph thing. Ignoring whatever practical applications there might be, it basically comes down to a debate of "how badly do you need an empty flask right now?" that you'd be willing to take whatever ill effects it has.

You do not need vampirism to eat bodies or drink liquids at all, you can always do that. The ONLY thing vampirism does is allow you to heal when you drink blood.
