How to safely test weapons?

Hey there Noiters, I'm trying to get the feel for the game at the moment. Part of that has been realizing how much better you can make wands if you go to the effort of customizing them. My problem is that I'm not used to all the mods yet, and am scared to test them in the holy mountain for.. reasons. Anyone have a tip for testing safely in the shop?

If they don't perforate walls then it shouldn't be a problem

I like to hang by the right side of the second pool of water and shoot towards the back of the HM. It's safe.... Most of the time.

If you afraid of skeleton, don't use acid, matter eater, earthquake shot and ground to sand. Also don't polymorph yourself too much(30-80 times) because it angers gods too.

You never really are safe tbh, your own spells can sometimes hurt you (sawblades, explosions, etc...), could anger gods (acid, earthquake, matter eater), or just be really wacky.

install a cheat mod and play around on the surface

or, do as i do and just take your chances, and youll learn over time which spells can hurt you and which are safe. As stated above try not to damage the holy mountain or Steve will be summoned (also learn how to deal with Steve- ice & electricity can stun lock him for easy pwnage, or some circle spells can be helpful too). Sometimes the spiders or worms will damage the holy mountain anyway and youll have steve to deal with regardless.

Use unknown spells with a trigger/timed spell like "spark bolt with trigger" (on a no-shuffle) or go to noita wiki for descriptions and wand mechanic-tutorial.
It's not that complicated...

I'm sure it's not. Chances to test things on your own certainly are few and far between though!
