Massive Stability issues happen for me, need help fixing if possible.

I find myself running into a rare issue in the game that randomly slows my entire computer to a slideshow crawl.

it's seems to always be caused jumping down from a height, and less commonly from flying upwards, and it doesn't matter where in the game I am or how far i am into it.

seemingly doesn't matter how much VFX or Pixel Physics is rendered, nor how many Particle fx are on/off screen at the time.

it will seemingly happen regardless when it decides to.

Pausing the game will fix the issue though only while paused, if i unpause, it continues, takes a long while to pause after hitting esc, slows everything, not just the game, cannot alt tab or do anything until the game eventually pauses.

but when i save and quit, then relaunch the game, everything is fine, like as if it was never happening..

so what's the problem, is it the game, my pc? or some weird af mix of both?

is there any way i can fix this/these issue(s)? not sure if it's a single issue or multiple.

It can happen if you spawn too many projectiles or projectiles that cause a lot of calculations (like lava to blood spam or whatever), or if you have too much moving liquid (like trying to evaporate the lake), or you have gold lasts forever and left lots of gold lying all over the place, (or if you visit too many areas without save & exiting?)

The physics gets behind, or whatever process it is running gets overloaded or something.

Don't spam shoot stuff that causes lag or screens and screens full of liquid to move, and try to keep your save from getting insanely large.

tbh, I think it may be a problem with the way the game does memory management or something. I've noticed the massive slowdowns too, but it usually resolves itself after half a minute or so. When I've done a ton of parallel worlds or have certain perk combos (in particular, lots of trick-greed + exploding gold) it starts happening more often and it's even crashed my game a few times.

Since it happens more for some people than others, there may be a system spec component to it. So yeah, it's probably a mix of the game and your system. You could try making sure you don't have any other heavy software running while playing (in particular: make sure you have your internet browser closed, since those are memory, and sometimes CPU hogs).

Curiously I had issues but after a number of updates completely stopped. Mine only lags when i have a extremely dumb wand like infinite spells + trigger luminous drill with bombs with infinite mana casting. I will say sometimes you have to exit the save, quit noita and open it back up because game will freak out.
