what is emerald tablet of thoth?

im just exploring and i went all the way to the right of the map and at some point i found this tablet. what do i do with it?
yes i found the ??? area if that has anything to do with it

theres different tablets around the world, they give lore, hints, instructions, and sometimes are useful for unlocking stuff, but as @Hey what? said its serves better as a throwing weapon.

You can carry it somewhere else for a whopping $100 or just use it to kill stuff, it actually deals pretty good damage.

invisibility, repelling cape, trick blood money and an emerald tablet. good combo, also works with paha silmä.

That's because comment 4 is thinking of something different and just flat out wrong.
But like comment 3 said, there is a (not very) hidden place where you can trade in those tablets for a bit of cash.

Maybe I'm mis-remembering, but I thought there was something that happened when you threw an emerald tablet on the forge. (Maybe it's not true anymore, It's been quite a while)
