Easy Way to Enable Full Multiplayer
Here’s a great way that mod creators can give the Noita community full blown multiplayer.

Make a mod that just enables local couch co-op and recognizes two Xbox controllers as two players. Therefore the physics processing is done on one machine and the second player can even connect/stream via Steam Remote Play Feature.

I’ll wait for someone to tell me why this is impossible to implement.

This is just local coop, not true online gameplay as it will just stream the image of the game so yeah good workaround would still need to split screen tho

Yeah it's a good work around and absolutely possible. Hoping a modder sees this post and gives it a shot.

Always had this idea in the back of my mind, just need someone to make a local co-op mod and online will be possible via parsec etc
You would need separate cameras for each player, dunno if the engine supports that. Also, the game 'turns off' materials and objects outside of a certain radius around the player to save CPU power. If you have 2 players moving around, you could have up to twice as much material being simulated simultaneously and would still run into performance issues.

I feel like this thread is a classic example of "It's easy because I say it is."

I don't necessarily disgaree with your concept but "Make it couch co-op lol easy okay bye" is not exactly a technical explanation as to how modders can implement such a thing.

what about modding full 3d, i heard that it's 5 minutes of work for skilled modder!

if game is not designed as multiplayer, there is a lot of work to make it MP, especially if engine is closed source and especially if reversing engine is against EULA.

This post is about local co-op not online co-op, as an actual game-dev I would advise you not make generalisations like this about game engines. Local co-op is in almost all cases limited simply by game design as opposed to online co-op which is limited by your engine.
