Eating hotkey?

Is there a way to change the hotkey for eating? I find myself accidentally eating fairly often, and really dislike that it is bound to the S key

Why are you pressing the down key? I do agree though the game should have a method of rebinding keys.

It does have a method of rebinding keys, but it doesn't have separate inputs for eat vs down. But yes, the only real reason to press down is to swim downward, and you can't eat when swimming.

Trying playing with controller. You'll have so much fun accidentally drinking oil and eating corpses. But I did this to myself by forcing myself to learn with controller so I could play on TV while melting into the couch like a slob

if you have an empty potion in your hand while swimming down it gets rid of the liquid enough for you to be able to drink it. otherwise you cant eat underwater
