Pyramid boss no longer Flammable?

As of patch Oct 29 the pyramid boss no longer seems to catch on fire when firing magic missiles or basic fireballs at its core. Usually it will catch fire quite easily but today I tried fruitlessly 3 times. I haven't tired larger fireballs or bombs yet.

Try using fire flasks... I think fire spells will still work but may be much harder to ignite the boss with, or I could be wrong, but I do know that the fire, lava, and cocktail flasks still work!

I could not light him on fire. had a wand that trailed oil, affix fire, bouncing green beam, filled the entire room with flaming liquid. he would not catch fire.

dont know if he did this before, but he burrows through walls now? i used hide down a ramp and rain fire into the room, now he just eats the ramp on his way to me.

i ran around enough trying to light him fire that he "ate" 80% of the pyramid.

For me the meta game was always: get to the pyramid as fast as possible with a fireball or missile wand, kill the boss in 2 hits, hopefully get a 600/200 wand with some good spells on it and make my way down. Seems this is now impossible to do at the start but I need to test further.

I was kinda bummed after they removed the twisty passages, which provided easy access to teleportatium, invaluable to a good run imo. Seems they removed the pyramid boss cheese as well so the game got even harder...

I dumped 3 sea of lava on its head yesterday and it still wouldn't catch fire

Yep, the way to have good start is now no longer available. Soo, save scumming it is xD.

he drops wand comparable to hisii base, taking in account amount of HP and how long you need to grind him down, it's more reasonable to just go hisii base.
