Any consistent strategy to get essential perks?
Blood money, trick gold, (that double gold perk), perk lottery, extra perk, edit everywhere, no shuffle.

No, it's random. You could farm gold for rerolls I guess, and take extra perk, but that's it. Also, no perk is essential. Many are good to have, but you can finish the game with only a slight increase in difficulty even if you took none of them.

There are substitutes for everything you mentioned: you can find healing spells (need a trigger spell so you can bounce them off a wall, back at yourself or delayed so you can run in front of it), or or pheromone and use it on the healers in the fourth zone; you can dig your way out of the holy temple so you can return to edit your wands (you'll have to fight steve so you need a plan for dealing with him) or teleport out or polymorph on your way out... obviously you can find no-shuffle wands.

Also, you didn't mention unlimited spells, permanent shield, projectile repulsion field, slime blood (also gives 40% projectile resistance fyi) or any of the immunities; I recommend keeping an eye out for them. There are also some powerful combos like breathless + water trail or invisibility + repelling cape.

I started dropping shield perks since they fail too much. Every roll is chance for edit everywhere anyway.

One more thing; you might want to look up mods... pretty sure some of them would help you out.

infinite reroll mod lets you reroll the perks until you get what you want. class mods tend to let you start with a specific perk + themed starter wand.
