Keyboard and mouse. Because the devs have said many times that they made the game with keyboard and mouse in mind and only added controller because of some people.

Controller all the way. While the aiming is easier using keyboard/mouse, the movement feels like balls in comparison. This game is a side scrolling, twin-stick shooter for me. the only problem using a controller right now is there is currently a bug where if you drop and item from your inventory you also take a drink from ALL equipped flasks at the same time, lol.
