Having the ability to pan the camera faster would be nice.
There's workarounds, like generally assuming you're going to take a lot of damage when you go around literally any corner.
Ambrosia, Invisiblium, or projectile-reflecting/high-collateral wands are good.
Teleportation or return wands are incredibly useful for dropping down, waking something up, and getting out before it hurts you.
You can also travel to the right in the Mines, and pick up the emerald tablet that always spawns at the lava there. If you hear/see something incoming, you could try throwing the tablet to block projectiles and "melee" nearby enemies.
I do use the tablets, they are especially excellent against the tanks at the Hisi base because if thrown well they instantkill. The tablets are also by far the best counter to those enemies near the end that take almost no damage from projectiles. I usually throw away return spells but I'll give it a try now.
But yeah I find the difficulty of this game is mostly based around stuff from far above or below hitting you because they see further vertically than you do.
