They will allow you to give yourself some health or tweak a handful of settings to adjust the game to your preferences.
I recommened using Goki things to always give yourself the Edit Wands anywhere perk at the beginning of your runs.
None of these are particularly game breaking and make the base game itself heck a easier. specially the long life gold one. Perfect when you're just starting out.
Once you actually get into the guts of the game and know what you're doing I would also recommend: Spellbound Bundle, Health Containers, Anvil of Destiny, or any of the other wacky ones that are in the workshop. Nice that they actually added that feature to the base game btw.
Both healing spells AND healing flasks are found in the game.
Healing spells include a modifier that causes projectiles to heal and the spell circle of vigour.
The healing flask is made through alchemy and has a different ingridient chart per seed.
The modifier heals anything EXCEPT the caster, so you have to throw the wand at an enemy and hope it shoots you.
The flask recipe has ZERO hints at what the recipe is, and in early 200 games, only seen it once...
Despite saying that, it heals the caster.
Furthermore, enemies will prioritise using wands over normal attacks (most of the time), so throwing a wand is fairly reliable.
