Can We Get Some More Wand Slots?
The current number (4) just feels a bit limiting. You always need at least 1 or two slots available to pick up nice wands you find between the holy mountains, so I typically end up with 1 "damage wand" and a single utility wand.

I think 5 or 6 slots could really make the game more interesting. (More than that would probably be too much.) It'd be cool as a perk too--either way.

If this isn't something we can expect in the base game, does anyone know if it's even relatively possible to make a mod that does this? I've looked at some of the lua modding "documentation", if you can call it that, and it seems extremely difficult at best.

If anyone else has any cool ideas, I'd love to hear them!

Edit: Grammar

It'll probably be modded in.

Here's hoping, but I can't find a way that it'd be possible with the current modding API.

I like only having 4 slots. It forces you to make difficult decisions that will shape your run.
What I would prefer is a randomly occuring place that I could spend resources to improve certain wand stats.

There's a mod for that.

that would be great but what about more effective wands

Getting craft wands anywhere is the closest I've found. I too would prefer more wand slots

i feel like having the ability to stick wands in the inventory slots is a more suitable compromise

on a run-by-run basis, it's entirely possible to end up with four machinegun wands and not have room to experiment with anything else because it would mean throwing away time-tested practical weapons for a 'what if' scenario

on the other hand, unless you invest solely in carrying around four water/blood flasks or get incredibly lucky with alchemy ingredient rolls or you're ferrying around tablets for the true ending most of the things you can stick in your inventory are situational at best, or actively detrimental at worst

similarly, being able to put bombs in your inventory should be standard, rather than a perk roll, which would also solve the biggest problem with making edit wands everywhere available from the start - the bomb wand makes almost every genned wand from the first two floors useless if you slot any low cost direct-damage projectile into it

Maybe a fifth wand slot could be a mountain perk or something.

I do agree, there are times when I wish I had an extra space to put a neat looking wand without having to play the whole drop-and-juggle game with rearranging them in a place where standing still is not recommended. But I also feel like it's a natural part of the challenge of the game, to do what you can with the space you're given.

A challenge I feel might be better alleviated through a perk, rather than something that trivializes the entire thing, like being able to shove whole wands in your inventory, or just having that extra slot completely free.

I like the idea of putting wands in the inventory slots, so long as you can't use them from there. Paired with a perk/pickup that gives you another line of 4 inventory you can swap out for your active 4, I think it would mesh well into the world/game's mechanics and not feel like separate ideas being applied together.

Still stupid not having a fifth wand slot, like you have your damage wand, your movement wand, your digging wand, and storage wand. But that doesn't leave any space for a dedicated healing wand. Having just one more wand slot opens so many possibilities, for example, a dedicated mass transmutation wand for creating materials or a setup wand for spells to power. Having this limit is dumb and it decreases the amount of ways you are able to play. Honestly 6 wand slots would be perfect but unfortunately we don't have that.

This could easily be reminded with an offhand slot that you can swap wand in and out with.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
