keep hearing this weird rumbly noise every now and then

i hear this incredibly menacing rumbling noise sometimes when im on the surface or occasionally when im underground. does this signify something or does it just trigger randomly

Does the screen also shake at the same time? If I'm not mistaken, this means there is a worm nearby.

i've heard the worm noise but this is a different one

Does this noise and rumble effect happen a little time after picking up anorb of true knowledge?

Does it happen right after you pick up an orb of knowledge, maybe?

If so, I think that sound is probably the endboss, getting a little more angry with you and a little more powerful with each orb you collect.
