Lava Lake (spoilers)

So I wanna try out new game + and I have fulfilled the requirements to do so (collected the gear, 5+ orbs and killed the boss) and right now i'm in the last chamber where you insert the gear to finish a run.

In order to get back to the surface and do a new game + I need to get past the lava surrounding the last chamber and unfortunately I only have one water flask and a saber wand (that eats trough all materials and can be used as jetpack). I'm on about 500 out of 600-700 hp.

So my question is can I use what I have to get past the lava lake like draining some of it into the chamber and then jetpack past it or i'm simply screwed for now and have to try again later? And if so, what sort of wand should I use in the future to get past the lava?

There's about a screen's worth of lava on every side of that chamber. The simpler idea would be to just not go into the portal that spawns where the boss dies.

You have to fly up the right room after the boss and dig 45° left_top to go back to the gallery. Then all the way left there is a portal to the "tower", harder then hell. Then there all the way up is a portal back to the start point of the game. The problem I had, and it was a super run, but I couldn't dig up because the material was too hard. So you have to have a very good dig wand at boss level or you are doomed like me. Also I tried to find the Orb under the Lava lake, but couldn't find it.

If you use the portal to the machine room, I don't know any way to go back from that point.
