What are you talking about? Development didin't even start on the game's engine until 2013 and noita wasn't even announced to the public until 2017 with its reveal trailer.
And the steam page was added earlier this year when noita was shown at E3.
On the other hand the Website still says "Coming to Early Access on 201x" witch if that is still relavent that means sometime in 2019 at this point. Either way the devs post gifs and clips on twitter every week for so
Well if you feel that it shouldin't have been announced until 2019 then thats your opinion. But in all honesty the developers can do whatever they want Whether its preferable or not its there choice and its there game.
If they where to announce release dates and never meet them and cause delays that will just hurt the game even more. and it would just cause un-patient people to get pissed off. Its generally a better choice to just say the game will be available to purchase and play when its ready to be in this case.
However if it concerns you (or anyone) if the game's development or devs are inactive they have been posting clips on twitter quite often for the last year. The wait may be a bit long but its most likely going to be worth it in the end. But for me there isin't a "wait" the game is just on my "radar" of things to look forward too.
However cube world suffered from other problems too and its more of a complex story.
This is the last thing im going to say for this topic
But to put it simply cube world was released early but it gained a HUGE amount of popularity much more then the dev had expected. It was too overwhelming clearly and the developer went silent for months plenty of times one time he went silent for nearly a year. Even though a ambitious and great concept sadly who knows if its still in development since the last tweet was in 2017 and no other build of the game has released since 2013.
The difference between this game and cube world is that it was an ambitious project but clearly was released too early on hand but its biggest issue was the amount of popularity it gained it was knowhere near expected However they indeed continued to work on the game The game made millions of dollars However Wolfram continued working on the game as a "side project" They couldint keep up fully with the community Many things happened through blogs and tweets but not a single public update was released after the first few patches. in 2013 even after all those years.
While Noita hasn't released any purchasable versions of the game to the public and is being developed by more "experienced" devs who have developed previous projects and released on steam. But Noita is basically trying to avoid the same problems that games like Cube World had suffered through.
Releasing the game too early could cause major consequences and not having good community connections can aswell. But generally Noita is taking the "safer" route. Even if announcing the game long before release may not be "smart" its still far better then releasing the game too early and doing what cube world did in that case. IF noita gets cancelled then well its cancelled thats it there are no pre-orders, donations nothing they owe nothing... Thats an IF though i highly doubt its anyware in that scenario.
It will release when its ready for the public
Afterall it is they who are asking the customer to spend money on their project, just because some do not appreciate this does not make it wrong. I would like to know my money is going to a good project not something that may or may not even be in development.
♥♥♥♥, even long-standing companies have streaks of unprofessionalism. 'Do you guys not have phones?'
When it's done means they aren't even entirely sure and don't want to be constantly asked about it.
I love developers who just don't want to set a timeline in lieu of actually making an awesome, polished experience for the players. This is the guys who make the good games and not the greedy cashgrabs that the videogame industry is filled with today.
I am eagerly awaiting Noita just as I am eagerly awaiting CP77. Have some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ faith you ingrates.
I hope both these will go well but the sad state of things is that when games take half a decade or more to get made, they tend not to be very good. And when there is no pressure to release something, feature creep and delays are almost inevitable.
Bad game is forever bad, but delayed game is eventually good. Deadlines suck, because you cannot predict 100% how the development goes even if planned ahead. Apparently the developer of this game is in no rush to get it out. They want to make it as good as they can.
