(spam Electric Arc with bouncy shots)
I did get a wand from the dragon wurm that had always cast: Meteor
(so unlimited meteors instead of only getting 10 uses/slot, it also had 15x Meteor (10) in it, which was pointless)
I got it on a return trip to the surface from the Snowy Depths and when I finally got back with it, it was one of the few wands (ive ever found) that could actually handle a chain of splitter bolts with timer.
With homing, threw in a couple energy orbs with timer, and a single slow fireorb with electricity and damaging aura at the end... and it took me through the end of the game like never before. And it didnt even seem THAT OP to be honest. What made it fun though was because it ended up a lot different than most of the bolt/arrow spam or simple homing bubbles I've done well with in the past.
Thing is, they also had cold charge and electric charge as modifiers. These interact with nonstandard "projectiles" (like the death crosses) a bit strangely, so the cross would home in on something and then do the electric+cold "impact damage" every tick, resulting in scores of damage procs before the crosses even detonated. Plus it'd freeze/stun everything in place. Pretty ridiculous.
The other wand, from that same run, was something I affectionately named "Armageddon". Some sort of projectile with a timer, resulting in a quadruple multicast of four whiskey mists (I'd found a random wand with all four on it... Staff of alcoholism more like)... Mists, being "projectiles", will also home in on enemies, and they also last a long time and don't disappear when hitting something.
Which meant that the fireball thrower modifer that was placed on all four mists had plenty of time to annihilate everything.
If I was coming up on a nasty-looking area, I'd just zap that thing in the general direction, hide behind a wall, and listen to the world ending...
A 2 second burst caused chaos all over the level :D
In a previous run, I had a wand with a timed energy orb, followed by a heavy shot homing cast-four followed by four regular energy orbs. Cleared out rooms without entering them and munched the final boss, was fun.
Faster recharge modifier, frost modifier, basic bolt with spell trigger, 6 spell multicast, CHAINSAWS(drills kinda works as well as a substitute).
Then as you go and get better wands with more slots you add in damage/crit modifiers or more multicast and chainsaws = instant death with little to no mana cost.
I think chainsaws have a wonky interaction with the faster recharge modifier, if you only put 3 of them on a wand it fires faster than without them ofc, if you only put a bunch of chainsaws it also fires faster... but if you combine them, even in much fewer numbers its like both the cast delay and recharge is more or less gone entirely.
Edit: You typically just need a faster recharge modifier(I put it first in the chain) and 1-2 chainsaws to get stupidly powerful results.
You dont even need a lot of chainsaws to still have this combination just delete end game enemies almost before you even press the button. Frost modifier is to 'stun' enemies and it helps a fair bit against enemies with oil as blood but if you have Vampire perk its worth removing the frost since you get a lot of blood using chainsaws :)
