Orbs(spoilers)

so I read on the forum that orbs are suppose to give you permanent perks/spells for future runs, but I got the orb from the top of the mountain and haven't noticed any spells/perks on my next run.

This just happened to me as well. I'm wondering if they are more like locked spells that can now be randomly found on random wands. I found a thunder cloud spell. I didn't get a chance to use it before I died though.

Oh, so like unlocking items in the Binding of Issac, yeah, that's probably right.

i dont think so because ive found a few things on wands that are supposed to be on orbs without getting the orb like necromancy

Apparently, there are at least 13 of them and they are VERY WELL hidden

I think the orb spells are already unlocked by default, I saw a streamer playing the game for the first time and the earthquake spell was in the shop for him and he didn't even get the earthquake orb that's at the pyramid.

Maybe he has the streamer build before early access ?
