why did this game stop?
I played it during the year it dropped, there was alot of momentum going for it. Then stopped after the campaign and its been a long time since, returning to it with my friend who is new and we realize the game has basically 'ended' with no more content updates and what not.

Anyone care to give lore

The game was released, with 3 planned updates after that, and that's what happened. Nothing more, nothing less.

I dont think this was ever intended to be a liveservice game.

Before launch Cygames stated very clearly that Relink was not going to be a live service game.

Their goal was to release a full complete experience with a couple of post launch updates.

As such all planned updates have launched and development is now complete. Hence no more patches.

they didnt expected the game to be insanely popular, that's why we only got a few updates and done but they're 100% working on the next relink

It was easily the game of the year for me

TBH its an rpg/jrpg with co-op
you shouldn't go really go in expecting more after you beat it, unless there's a new game+ or something
You pray that this game has done well enough for to warrant a future "next" game.
That's how all rpgs/jrpgs are.
It was a one and done box purchase game. It was never intended to be an ongoing live service. The team moved on to making their next game.

i thought with its success it would get a MHW treatment with more stuff to do with friends especially for its original price tag. There's been so many granblue stuff coming out on other platforms so i think its high time they commit to beefy one with a longer content format. Co op was the most fun for me in this game and its crisp combat.

Only draw back is the atrocious jump animations and lackluster story and fate episodes that were like trying to skip credits

What happen? Cygames being Cygames but for real DLC and such need to be planed at the beginning or during development and if not then most of the staffs has moved on.

rip this game could've really done well with an expanded co op. Boss raids and such and even a story co op. shame really but I hope to play something like this one day instead of more cygames mobile slop

literally missed opportunity which is a classic move from cygames
It wasn't a missed oportunity. They didn't know the future, and the correct decision is to actually play safe...

That said, hopefully they learned something out of relink and with that they could take Garnet Arena in the right direction, whenever they decide to release it that is.

that is basically the definition of a missed opportunity. Which it is, its not like this game is 5 years old. It ended prematurely

With how people can barely get Lucilius in Zero down to 80~85% before failing the quest, i'd hope they never implement 8+ people raids.

Heck, even Behemoth was too much for a ton of players. Even Zathba's and Pageant got nerfed to the ground due to people being unable to clear the content lol.

Mate gatekeeping false difficulty helps no one, it basically means you have too much time on your hands for video games. It got nerfed because it was ridiculous simple as that. The game is already a grind fest without the content to justify for it. Min-Maxing to that degree is an outdated formula, gone are the days of unemployed virgins, this isn't warcraft culture.

But you got your wish cus cygames are done. They are busy working on their gooner idol game

Except none of the content requires insane min-maxing, just a decent build and not being bad at the game?

There are a few exceptions with trash-tier characters(Rosetta, Ferry...), but for the most part, if you weren't brainlessly mashing, the content was far from impossible.

Did you even run Zero? Nothing about that fight was false difficulty, as a vast majority of the content prior to it were already 1-2 shotting people, and the attack patterns Lucilius did were similar, but vastly different from the standard Lucilius fight.

I also think it's ironic that you want boss raids, but also make fun of "warcraft culture" lol.
