I'm worried about this game's longevity
I have been thinking about buying this game, but will it still have enough players to play with 6-8 months from now? Or will it just decay like other jrpgs and have noone to play with after the hype ends?

That's what I am worried about: spending the amount they are charging just to be able to play for a few months at best

Why does it need to last 6-8 months? It's not a live service game, it's a serverless and fully soloable RPG with 13-20 hours of single player story content and a highly replayable end game. You do not need for there to be tens of thousands of players to play this game in 6 months time.
I honestly don't know. I suspect player numbers will drop off after a bit when everyone has beat every quest (theres only 100 and about half of them are trivial and pointless).

This is like the monster hunter games just more animeish, faster.. very fun.. a lot of stuff to grind for. People will be busy for a long time.

Monster Hunter games on pc still have plenty of people to play with. So this will too since it's pretty successful.

It has the same multiplayer problems monster hunter has tho. A lot of different quests .. fragments the playerbase. You wont find people that fast depending on the quest.

Really? I was in a stream he said the game was very very multiplayer based, since the story is short and playing with bots suck

Oh, so the end game ends up beeing more solo than multiplayer?

We will get the Lucilius boss fight/raid for free in March, 2 new characters in April and something still ? In May.

If you focus only 1 character and quit after you max it out, then probably the game won't last you very much. Depends on how much new content we will get with future updates.

I would say the opposite. Most people grind the endgame quests for mats. While nobody wants to play the low lvl quests since there is no reason to.

It's gonna last but don't expect too much. Cygames ain't going to waste this opportunity to make a sequel to continue the story.

I guess they will support it with free content for 6 months, after that they will likely sell dlc / character packs and skins. It's pretty obvious there is a cosmestic selection feature in game.

The only way to increase longevity for games with "gear score" chase is by increasing the level cap and more quests, so the grind never ends like mobile game.

You play the story and once it's done it's done, if you want "neverding game" just go play some mmo or gatcha or any toxic game as service trying to suck up your money continuously, you're in the wrong market here.

This isn't a story game. It's a grinding/hunting game. With some barebones story attached to it.

I love it how people nowadays are scared of game dying after days of release. Fomo has brainwashed our brains real hard. Yes, Nothing lasts forever. Play while you still can and enjoy without fear.

What does it change ? if you want it to last forever go on live as service game.
I have no idea how this kind of game is named, looter shooter sure is easier than monster hunter like or whatever is it for fantasy games :taloslol:
