It's very weird, it just goes by whatever region you're using for your steam download server. you can switch to other regions by changing that, which makes me think it likely wasn't done on purpose, but who knows at this rate.
this is not about sales region lock article
about multiplayer server region lock
Just a few click download server can change multiplayer region.
Region locking is because of laws, thats just how it is. Accept it, hate it, then look up the billion of videos on youtube that explain the why.
MHW did the same. Ment that if you didnt have your download region set to a major location (like for example London) then you would have a hard time finding matchups.
Ok, TL:DR. One: You are blatantly wrong, so stay quiet.
Two: Region locking isnt about what you think it is. Laws about what services are used by who, on what platform, with any copyright, trademark, and any other legal ownership, trade laws in the countries/regions and deals made to use literal fkn cables, all make for what can and cant be region locked on what.
Three: I reiterate, stay quiet, with the bonus of "take this opportunity to learn"
Four: Deals between large companies with international law are not something that you can even start to understand. Even the 'experts' have a hard time keeping track of this ♥♥♥♥.
Five: Was going to make another jab at you, but I dont really think I need to again.
Bro has no idea what he's talking about. Explain why Monster Hunter World isn't region locked if it was because "laws" LMFAO
Because different games have different content and themes and sometimes violate different region obscenity laws or fall under some weird perview about certain ratings within that region requiring unique server regions for multiplayer?
This isn't an uncommon or obtuse thing, this is how things have been for decades.
That historically has mostly applied to Chinese releases of video games (hell, even MHW is region locked for China only because they are run through Wegame due to Chinese censorship laws)
The global release for Relink is the same as the JP one, and there is literally no reason that Americans and Europeans cannot play together without switching their download server (which again, the fact that you can do this at all to circumvent it makes me feel it wasn't intentional).
Your argument double falls flat when you realize the game is not region locked on PS5/PS4. So no, you do not know what you're talking about, please stop spreading misinformation.
