Why the violence?

There's an option in the game to disable blood. hopefully that's what you're looking for.

Yes absolutely, what's harmful about a hanging ballsack?

My 3 year old doesn't even know the concept of death yet. I don't want that first experience to be gratuitous.

Well the game is in full description with information on what it would be like. IF you do want non-violent games there are tons of them on Steam that are suitable for a 3 year old to play.
Freddi Fish, Putt-Putt, Pajama Sam, Spy Fox. These 4 game series can be found on Steam and are enjoyable, cheap, and quick downloads.

In my opinion, this game seems to have a Looney Tunes style level of violence. But the ability to turn of blood seems cool in your case.

If I recall correctly, there is a setting that turns off blood effects.
