Shenmue 4 - would you back another Kickstarter?

I for one am really enjoying playing Shenmue 3 on my PS4 and will definitively be buying the game again on Steam next year.

Dispite the Kickstarter debacle I would back another in order to continue the Epic adventure.

Would you?

Would you need some preconditions such as a cast iron guarantee of a Steam version, no Deep Silver involvement etc...

It's been almost 2 years now. Has anyone heard anything about Shenmue 4? If this was in development I truly feel we would've received a nugget of news by now. I played this on the PS4 Pro and now replaying it on PC. My goodness!!! This is almost a completely new experience @4k with max settings and 120 fps. The sounds coming through a Dolby Atmos setup is breathtaking while you're in Bailu Village. There is far less draw in while everything is looking so crisp and detailed.

I haven't no. But still peeved at both S3 being Epic exclusive for a while and also that S1 & S2 are not modder friendly.

I believe the 4th game has long been in active development for a whole host of reasons but that Yu has not officially announced it yet because he quietly wants to work on this one without being in the public gaze as much as he was (necessarily so) with the last game.

Right now i want Remakes of 1 and 2 with same engine and graphics we have in 3, also probably a new voice overs we got in 3 (with original voice over as option for nostalgia) and with some quality of life improvements. After remakes if they will not loose anything from original and will make it 1 to 1 copy just with modern graphcis and better controls and UI - i may have some hopes for Shenmue 4 as final act of story and not another filler as 3 was.

No, I started with 1, but I think 3 and the rerelease is what made me aware of the game. Played all of them in order, but the first game is still my favorite.

I first played Shenmue 2 on the original Xbox in 2006. Then I bought a pre-owned Dreamcast so that I could play 1.
I’d like a remake of 3 as well! I would love to see Shenmue in the original graphics but with 4K widescreen 120fps and modern controls. ☺️

That would be incredible. Would love to see what Bailu would look like if the series had continued straight on from the end of 2. The old controls are janky, but the remasters still look great, imo, especially S1. And the forest areas at the end of 2 are gorgeous.

I love the art style of the originals. They were cutting edge back in the day but today they have a uniqueness that I adore.
