A whole different version of the game?
If you check the reviews and the forums you can see that the Quest 2 version is much further ahead. Do some looking around.
The most specific thing that I've seen mentioned actually sides with the Steam version being better because it has the Armory, slightly larger map areas and friendly bots on your team, all of which the Oculus version has left out, according to what's out there on the forums and videos. I also heard that the Oculus update improved alot on the graphics, but I assume that the Steam version likely still would be better in that regard for obvious reasons.
But again it's mostly old information so that's why I'm asking here now for the latest info and why some feel that the Oculus version is currently superior?
+ better graphics, lighting and shading
+ the Armory is the cats meow and I absolutely love it, its not in the Oculus version
+ maps are larger in this pcvr version than they are on the Oculus version
+ performance while playing wirelessly on AirLink is very good (wifi 6 w/160Hz channel)
The issues, for me, that I think need updating/fixing in the pcvr version:
- game crashes if using "ultra" graphics setting (must turn down to "high" to resolve)
- game will not shut down properly and always needs to be end-tasked
- shooting range is inactive (no way of adjusting distance or pulling in the targets for review)
- bots get stuck at various places on the maps, so this greatly affects the game play balance and immersion
- enemy dropped weapons disappear too soon, should stay in place longer
- player dropped weapons/attachments should stay in place much longer before disappearing
- there needs to be a slot on your person to store an attachment, otherwise swapping attachments from one weapon to another is a very bulky process and if you drop something by accident you are more likely to lose it, currently, since dropped items disappear so quickly in missions. VERY annoying.
yes

A note about cross-buy (the feature that allow people to buy once and get a game on both Oculus Store and Quest Store) is that there are no guaranties that a purchase made prior to the cross-buy enabled release will be unlock both once the game is available in both platforms.
There are a few games that were purchased on the Quest 2 store, then went cross-buy and those who previously purchased the game on Q2 couldn't unlock it on the Oculus Store (PCVR).
