Development was postponed for PCVR due to the Quest version as the Quest system lacks an Early Access equivalent. The devs have stated they're back-porting all the updates which have since gone into the Quest version (new weapons, new maps, better performance, QoL updates, etc) but that all takes time. Two new maps were recently added to the PCVR version, though I haven't had a chance to play them yet.
As to whether it's worth it in its current stat? On sale, I would easily say so. If you have a friend (or three) to run co-op, then definitely - even not on sale. The maps that are there are fairly good and there's a decent assortment of weapons with plenty of customisation (laser-sighted .45 with a scope and suppressor? Sure!). Aside from a few hitches (mostly related to weapon accessories) the controls are pretty good, though perhaps a bit button-heavy if all you have are Vive Wands. Grabbing a new clip and using the scope can also be a bit janky on inside-out tracked controllers.
Half (if not more) of the fun is the co-op interaction. Can sort out assaults with a shield at the front, organise flanking, set up cover fire, or just flick shotgun shells at people to confuse them after you've climbed up to somewhere weird. You can even pull the pin on a friend's grenade without taking it off their vest, though I highly recommend not doing that more than once.
Excellent but it's best to have a friend to play, because it's getting harder and harder to find someone from the Internet. In addition, you can often buy for pennies. This is one of the best vr games if you can read and can do a tutorial.

I highly recommend.
edit:
Of course, you can also play alone. But in co-op mode, this game shines.
I love how you buy your gear at the armoury and build your load out with the 3 presets, there's quite a bit of stuff to choose from and it looks like they left room to add a lot more.
Im working my way through the maps on co op. Don't expect a simulation, but that's a good thing, it's just good fun.
With the recent announcements about the pc version starting to get the attention from the developers that it deserves, this game is well worth it while it's on sale, and it sounds like it's only going to get better.
