Open in-game settings menu on Oculus Touch
I apologize for a possibly stupid question.

I went through the first couple of missions and would like to slightly improve the graphics settings (the ones that were selected at the first launch), but I cannot figure out how to open the in-game settings menu.

I have Oculus Touch (new). The B and Y buttons do nothing. In SteamVR settings only render resolution. "Menu" button opens SteamVR overlay.

Hi!

That's not a stupid question at all. :)
Are you on a Quest 1/2?
Are you using Virtual Desktop to stream the game, or are you playing tethered?

If you are playing through Virtual Desktop, then there is a community binding that works while we investigate this issue.

I was using Virtual Desktop on Quest 2 and rebinded B to Menu and it is fine to use. However, by default the menu buttons opens Steam VR ingame menu. On Link it opens ingame menu as expected.

Virtual Desktop is already the main way to play Steam VR games on Oculus Quest 2. So in games you need to take this into account, fix this bug.

I am having this problem in 2021, any fix yet? If so how do I fix it?

Change controller mapping inside Steam VR Overlay, remap B button to ingame menu. 2021 is not going to solve our problems...

Guess 2023 can't help either.

With Virtual Desktop, I can confirm the following issues/points:

• For a long while by now, launching the game via any methods outside of going through SteamVR HUB/Menu crashes the game 100%.

Until around early 2023, you could run SteamVR in solo (without actually launching Steam itself) to run the game without the Steam API's HUB/Menu, but it's not possible anymore.

• While the Steam API is running, the "Menu_Left" function call on the controller is not working at all. For the same reason as why the menu isn't opening even behind the SteamVR Overlay, if you set the function (via the VR input manager in SteamVR) to something else, it doesn't work at all. For example, I create a new modified version of the inputs for ZCvr and attributed the "Left_Menu" function to click on the right thumbstick (as both thumbsticks clicks are for enabling Run, if applicable) and it doesn't open the menu either.
I also tried to apply the "Left_Menu" to the Left controller's menu button for the "Touch" feature (as Quest 2/Pro/3 has touch detection on all buttons) and it didn't work.

• While using the Oculus Software and Link or Air Link, the "Left Menu" works as intended.

So the issue comes from something that is handled by SteamVR and VD that "overwrites" the left menu completely.

You want to tell me as of this moment, it's impossible to access the menu on quest unless using air link? Not even with a keyboard (physical keyboard) shortcut? Or at least before starting a mission?

I don't know the game very well so I am a bit lost, it did a benchmark at the start and then no menu at all ever and quitting a mission is also impossible.

That has nothing to do with meta, just with developers not implementing controllers very well. The game was perfectly playable, I played it last time December 2023 without any problems, I think you just have to load a different config for the controllers in steam input
