Scale of the game somehow messed up?
I just bought the game, and coming from Pavlov, Onward and other more popular shooters the scale of the hands and guns is bizarre. The hands feel bigger than my face, and it feels like the shoulders on the arms are up to my neck.

The guns are also way bigger than they normally in VR games are, which makes them feel like toys even more than the toy-like sounds they make.

I made the ingame height my exact height so I dont think thats the problem. They can't actually be that huge can they? Is there something I'm missing?

It was done deliberately to enhance the detail on the weapons (so everything got scaled up).

Your correct, the scales way off, I have a HK416 and several M4's the scale is not right, the game is cool, and the fact that it actually has campaigns is great, but its not in the same class as Pavlov or Contractors, the models are terrible, the hand control is really funky, the buttons dont seem to operate the hands like all the other games do, and guns scale is all over the place, a Scar is the same size as M4 Carbine, the grips and lower are are the same, it ruins the feel of the game to me, not sure if I should refund it or keep it, as its a little too indi for me.

When I started the tutorial I picked up a Scar like weapon, and I'm like "what the hell" its huge??? but then I pick up a G3 and its small, like a long MP5?? the M4 Carbine is little closer to the correct size, but when you add a Hollowgraphic scope, the front A stays on the weapon, this cant be done unless you use a riser for it, you remove the A or you have a Magpul style MBUS fold-down to match the rear one, I know this as I have an open hollowgraphic, an EOTEC, an ACOG, MBUS flip iron sites, carry handles etc, have got 3 M4's with all sorts mods fitted, so I know how the weapon should be configured.

Also the stock on the M4, is fully extended, this would put it right in the middle of me, either make that adjustable, or colapse it almost all the way in, most people unless really tall would only have it extended 1/4 of the way, usually 2 to 3 notches on the buffer tube.

Oh and the P90 fire rate is off, it fires like a 1940's WWII MP5.

The Dev's should fire up Pavlov, this will give them a good reference point on weapon scale, sound and fire rate, these weapons feel more and handle more like they should.

As hunterjagter said. :)
Weapons are bigger because at the dawn of Zero Caliber's development, the two most popular headsets were the HTC Vive and the Rift CV1 with worse screens than let's say a Rift S or an Index.
Worse screens meant less details. We thought that upscaling the weapons would make their details pop out more. And bigger weapons meant that we needed bigger hands.

But, we already have an updated, slimmer hand model ready, we just need to readjust everything for it. We're debating weather we should downscale weapons as well.

Why not just have it on toggle? Let the user decide what they prefer.

I agree with this, i for one don't mind at all the scaling and I'm used to it now.

@Hollowgraphic though... You definitely own several M4's princess.

Where's them empty graphics at? I want 'em, hand over the .png's. xD

Isn't really feasible, would make multiplayer synchronization hell.

That's a shame, personally I'd prefer to see the weapons on a more realistic scale, but cv1 and vive users might get screwed over for it. Still, cv1 is basically no longer supported by oculus and vive is obsolete, so they'll be forced to upgrade at some point anyway, so don't feel bad about jumping the gun and going for a more realistic size.

Sorry, but I have to disagree... I love the game (over 300 hours) and don’t give a rat’s orifice about the size of the weapons / hands, etc... the Developers have far more important things to focus on than a few random players who are obsessed with the apparent size of their weapons! Good grief people! Does it really matter that much, or are you just trying to find something to whinge about?
As a long term Vive user, I must now live with a potentially degraded gaming experience on a title I have owned for months, because you find the scale of the weapons (in a game) disproportionate to what you feel is reality.

Has this come in the recent patch or this something that is coming down the pipe soon?

I agree with the OP. The weapon is too big. I use HTC Vive for playing Onward and Pavlov and I don't have any problem with their relistic weapon size. I can still see all the attachment in those games.

So pleaase scale down the weapon to a more realistic scale, because Zero Caliber is the only good FPS game with campaign. Those two games don't have....

Thank You

One has to question why Pavlov's weapons look good without the need to scale up. Maybe take notes from them on how they pull it off. Props for being able to hold the gun on either hand but maybe have a menu button swap option as I'm right hand Dom and left eye Dom(hold gun on left hand) I hit the menu button sometimes when I like to reload

The weapons have already been scaled down (now everyone is moaning it makes their hands look too big 🙄)....and yes, fixing the size of the hands is apparently on the “to-do” list.
