Aground is a pixel game - it can run fullscreen on any resolution monitor, but it just upscales the pixels so it will look pixely at any resolution. We do not have any plans to release higher resolution textures.

Disappointing. This is the main reason why I returned the game. Pixel games are fun, don't get me wrong. But most of them have scaling capabilities in the year 2019 and 2020. Either way, keep up the good job. Game was good while it was played, just the lack of scaling really got too annoying.

Aground does scale up - it just does so with nearest neighbor interpolation as most other methods end up with blurry results. There are some algorithms that can upscale pixel art, but they almost always need an artist to fix up the resulting art, and for a game with as much art as Aground, that'd be a huge undertaking. I'm not sure what the other games you have played do, you can send me a link and I can see if they have a smart algorithm for upscaling, but it's probably a lot more complicated than you are thinking, and certainly not a standard feature for games in 2020.

One thing you can do in aground is you can zoom out (like when you are riding a large vehicle). Hit Ctrl+Shift+D and paste this command:

setGameScale(2)

This doesn't actually change the art, and makes everything smaller - but a lot of people on really large monitors prefer this. I'm actually going to change the owl familiar in the next update so that it lets you zoom out without riding a vehicle - as it'd give an in-game way to zoom out and it's a cool ability that lets you see further.

This works at least out to setGameScale(4).
It makes things like walking seem extremely slow and it's not really that clear what things actually are as they lack any fine definition but at 3 I liked it better than 2. 1 is as far as I am concerned unplayable and I only have a 30inch monitor so it's not all that big.
Definitely an improvement though and I might last more than the 5 minutes I did initially now.

Thanks.

you stated that "it can run fullscreen on any resolution monitor," but on my monitor it forces black bars on me, i cant stand playing games with black borders, but i dont use 16:9 ratio, please let us change something, i usualy use borderless gamign to stretch the game window, but your game wont even let me do that.
