It sounds like you got the right idea when it comes to the accent of the tower: kill blue stuff, move up fast fast fast. Just remember where the blue stuff spawns, when and where the D-Class inmates spawn. Its best to use a pistol for the blue stuff as it'll one shot them, then use your primary weapon for the D-Class inmates and any 1262 vines that are obviously in your way. For example: when the blue flowers are spawning in the prison cells, they can kill you pretty easily in these tight quarters, these are the only vines I really need to eradicate. The best pistol is gonna be the Five Seven as it'll give you the best magazine capacity. The worst pistol is the 1911 for the exact opposite of that. Anything in between (M9A3, P320, M19X) is fine its just preference at that point.
Anyways, now for the decent. When you hit the valve to drain the water give it some time and wait for the water to drain before moving down; this will allow you some time to plan your positioning as you move down. The best place to take cover while going down, and the enemies are spawning, is in the prison cells themselves. So once you get to a level where soldiers spawn, make a mad dash for the prison cells and pray they don't shoot you before you reach cover. Then take them out from here, remembering to use that lean mechanic and take your time, take them out one-by-one. Also its worth mentioning that there is an M24 sniper rifle where the shutoff valve is at, you should be using that as it'll one-shot a soldier(unless you blow their arm off they'll still live). If you're not using the M24, then be sure your weapon has some kind of magnified optic like an ACOG or ECLAN.
Alternatively, you can try your luck and just run straight down without fighting any of the soldiers. Just remember the route down. You can even use some parkour tricks to jump off one level and land on some vines or something safe.
Then tiny hint for the very end: you'll need to shoot an object to finish.
GG for completing this part!
That's what I was doing. I didn't use my primary's weapon ammo for flowers that can be killed with one shot of my pistol. And I didn't take the time killing SCP-1262 if I could avoid it (exept in the cells because if I don't kill them, they'll kill me).
Thanks for the info about the Five Seven. :)
Thanks, I'll try that. I was going down at the same time as the water... and I couldn't hide when the enemies came. I wasn't sure if I could let the water drain a bit before moving, I thought more enemies would come if I didn't.
Don't worry, I saw this weapon. :D During my first run I thought "Nah, I'll keep my shotgun.", then I went down the stairs, got killed by the soldiers far away, and when I respawned in the valve's room I was like "Okay, sniper rifle it is." LOL. XD (trial and error).
I've already tried this. :D It didn't work well for me but I know why: I need to do this map again and again so I can remember the way up (and where the damn flowers are) and the way down. I couldn't remember the way down properly because on my way up I died and respawned higher up on the map (the game didn't want me to respawn in the water, which is good, but I couldn't save the map in my mind because of that).
==> I know I can succeed by trying again and again. ❌ My problem was that when I respawned, I had no weapons with me... only the knife. When I respawned in the valve room, it was fine because there were weapons there, but when I respawned in the cells, I was screwed because I got no weapons... so I chain-died.
I'll keep that in mind, thanks. :)
LMAO this is the only time out of the entire campaign that I drop the shotgun. Its always so sad to say bye to it.
Yeah that has always been an issue with alot of players, dying and not having the proper weapons or enough ammo to finish whatever part. Hopefully the devs iron out that fatal flaw.
The shotgun didn't really appeal to me because of its short range and long reload time, but I gave it a try after reading your comment. You were right, it's the best weapon. I kept it and it saved my @ss during the zombies horde in chapter 1.
If it's a bug (if respawning with the knife only and nothing else, no gun/weapon/ammo) then next time it happens to me I will use the chat command to give me an AK103 or something like that, in order to make it right. Doesn't mean I will succeed the mission but at least the "bug" will be corrected in a way and give me a chance.
HELL YEAH! That's the ticket! You're well on your way to mastering this game! Alot of players die a few times in the first chapter then complain that the game is too hard or whatever haha. I'm so glad you were able to rise to the challenge and overcome it! <3
I did it a second time, just to make sure it wasn't "luck" the first time. I got better, only died once, and the water didn't bother me this time because I've memorized the path and flowers placement, and when I went down I was hidden in a better spot.
I don't think the game is too hard, but it's definitely challenging at some points, yes. As you said, it takes patience to understand what you have to do, how things work on the map, and where to go, then it takes practice to complete the mission, but it's doable (as long as we don't get an annoying bug LOL).
