death drop items / checkpoints

1. I don't think you should lose EVERYTHING when you die, how did i manage to lose every thing i was carrying magically. you should be able to pick up all your items when you die and respawn.

2. there needs to be saves/ checkpoints you can return to, was playing for a couple hours on a run exploring and enjoying and accidentally got stuck down the side of a truck on a ramp in a gap that you HAVE to jump over and had no choice but to close the game hoping a checkpoint saved but it didn't, all progress lost, very VERY infuriating.
