Are friends needed for this game?

So I dont realy have friends to play with. Is it possible to realy play with randoms or does the game suffer in exchange?

Is there no in game voice chat? My question was rather its even possible to play it without a premade team.

It's possible but extremely difficult

I don't know how it is after the new update, but I remember beating the main gamemode once solo, so it should be possible with randoms even without any coordination provided you don't get teamkilled (if friendly fire is even a thing)

Randoms are unpredictable, there's no doubt about it and nothing the game can do for about it. You get either awful teammates or good teammates. Whatever the case, if you really don't want to I can tell you this... either go outside(or the discord) and get some friends to play with, or play solo. The game is indeed playable solo and has a lives system(you have in total 5 lives as the counter lies), it's not going to be super easy but it's not that hard either. But it is pretty helpful to have teammates watching your back, plus in multiplayer you get infinite lives.
