Not in singleplayer. If you die it's an immediate restart of the entire level.
I guess its a little buggy sometimes :(
Unless they changed it, its not true at all. Played with a few different buddies and if you all die, you start over from the beginning...
Generally speaking, I just hope this game will take more inspiration from it, like different SCP's that don't exist just to kill you, but to make the game more interesting
Thanks for the heads up ..
Good to know, I guess I'll wait for release to play again. Not trying to have my time wasted, so I appreciate the clarity. Time to finish Baldurs Gate woo!
First session me and my friend got to this water way section, went up some stairs and got killed by security. The next time we played we repeated all of that, then got further into the place. Only to have our heads explode at the same time.
So each time we play, we just have to replay more and more content that's tbh not that replayable (everything spawns basically the same except for the codes which do change... so it's not even like we can use our past knowledge to race back up to where we were).
Not sure how the chapters will be split but depending on how that's done I feel the same at this:
We might give it one more shot but probably very soon because we'll probably either:
die without getting further - and not be wanting to replay the first parts again
die but get further - and not be wanting to replay the first parts again
not die but go as far as we can in one play session, be forced to quit and not want to replay the first parts again
or finish and probably not play much more before full release because, well, it'll just be too predictable
I don't know what the chapters are going to be like but I hope they solve that issue. I'd be thinking to look towards left for dead maybe. Not checkpoints as such but shorter levels and if you die, things aren't exactly the same next time and there's a few weapons there to get you going. So maybe split area 12 into zones where you pass through some security checkpoint. You can start the game from here.
