Sound Issues

Just posting this to see if anyone else have any issues with this. It's like I'm not hearing anything when A.I.D.E. is supposed to be talking nor I'm hearing any other sound effects when you encounter Yanna. I was thinking it was my headphones but when I look back at my playthrough on Twitch, I see that it doesn't even get through into my stream.

Can anyone else confirm that everything sound related is working for them. I all I get is the background music and character sound effects like jumping and dying.

Same for me. Sound effects get cut off randomly, ie. some sound messages get through but some don't. It's easy to reproduce because eg. the jump sound keeps disappaering randomly.

I installed the openal.org thing (both of them now) and still can't hear the password to get into the game. I guessed it right ::3412:: and got into the game. Except all I hear is the music and not AIDE talking so I am experiencing the same problem you are. Any luck on this? Been a year and a half maybe you have found a solution?

I get the exact same problem.

:edit: After a while the sound goes off completely. I suspect this game just wasn't very well play tested :/

1: download this from Openal: https://kcat.strangesoft.net/openal-binaries/openal-soft-1.19.1-bin.zip

2: Extract the file soft_oal.dll from /bin/Win32 from the downloaded archive.

3: copy the file to your ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/[Your DERE EVIL EXE folder]

4: rename OpenAL32.dll to OpenAL32.bak

5: Rename soft_oal.dll to OpenAL32.dll

6: You can now play the game and rage quit with full audio enabled!
