I don't recall exactly where they came in, but you def can't get at them right away.
Then I activated the keys, and steam indicates me that I've had successfully activated Control Ultimate Edition on the account where I already owned Control Ultimate Edition. And then tadaaaa, DLC appeared in my library.
Exactly this, I had to do the same. This is terrible and awful lmao, how the hell did they manage this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? So bad.
Not sure I understand you question, from what I got in the AWE DLC, you start from your current save and go to the DLC zone ingame. You must have finished the main game to a certain point to access the DLC, so if you have already finished the main game it's fine. Not sure that you can return to the main game if you have not finished the DLC, but I dont see why not. You're progress ingame is saved on the same save as the main game as you progress in the DLC. Not sure about how the second DLC works
