can't continue game due to "lack of video memory"
game was running fine. i have far from the best setup but with all the settings turned to the lowest it ran fine. then something about the new update made it so that i get an error saying that i'm "out of video memory" whenever i try to continue the game from where i left off.
is anyone else having this issue? any advice?

The darn game won't even boot up on my end. Was working "perfect" a day or two ago..

Yes, I'm aware, though that wasn't the answer to their question ;)

What they're asking for is what KIND of GPU do you have, not how much memory ;)

For example, I've got a Radeon 7700XT.

Well its unfortunate if you played the game before but I'm surprised you were able to play it at all with that integrated GPU. Control isn't exactly the type of game that can run on a card like that and is usually paired with other components that also don't benefit the game as well.

Im not sure what resolution and settings you played at but I wonder if the configuration you had is just now causing the system to crash before you can change any settings. I'm sure there are better ways outside of reinstalling the game but perhaps that could allow you to reconfigure it. However I wouldn't be surprised if it's just unable to run on the Intel gpu. We're you very far into the game? With the new settings, this game is able to bring even my 4090 to it's knees and I can't max out the game.

i have all the settings as low as they'll go lol. but it was running pretty much fine (laggy after playing for 6hrs) until the update. i can still get in to change my settings, the problem comes when i hit launch. i had just arrived in ordinary when i stopped last time

set the game to ~360-540p and disable HDR and manually set all settings to low.

You are probably running out of vram for the textures. Turn the texture quality down to low and see if that fixes it. There's a general graphics setting slider that you could try too. Set that down to low and then turn settings back up as long as the game is still playable.
