5080 Issue?
Had a 3080 with no problems, but I'm trying this game on a 5080 and I'm getting shadow glitches, and sometimes it just freezes and kills my entire system. Drivers are the latest and I've done a "clean install". Pretty sure it's driver related, but just wondering if anyone else has this?

The game has occasional shadow-looking artifacts and freezes for half a second every few seconds and occasionally crashes/freezes. Most likely a driver issue because my card is running most other games just fine otherwise.
I could confirm same issue: Control often freezes on DX12 and also sometimes crashes to death. I hearda it's problem exactly on DX12 and with DX11 game works fine (but no DLSS and RTX on DX11). I run Control on Win11, R9 9950X3D and RTX5090, tried disablin' CFG for ControlDX12.exe but nothin' changed in fact.
Just adding my name to the pile. 5070 Ti, R5 7600X, 32GB DDR5. Can't keep a consistent 60fps on 1440p Ultra, even when running on DX11. On the DX12 executable, DLSS either doesn't work or offers no performance benefit, and Ray Tracing performance is just abysmal, even on medium settings, with my rig struggling to even reach 40fps. No missing ROPs, by the way.

I'm sure NVIDIA's drivers are to blame up to a point, but pretty much every other game I have installed at the moment runs so much better, even CP2077 at max settings and Path Tracing enabled. Anyway, it's good to know Remedy's already working on it, so I'll keep my fingers crossed in hopes they'll get it fixed soon.
This occurs with 5080 and Intel 12600K
5070Ti and 7800x3D here.
Game runs butter smooth fully maxed out at 1440P DLAA, and then I'll get insane frame drops in certain areas, and sometimes I can work through it, while others it completely freezes my game.

I have to Right Click on the windows Icon and force a Sign-Out of my OS in order to gain my system back. Frustrating as I upgraded from 3060 12gb in order to experience Ray Tracing, and its broken in this game. :/
5090 here. The office hub is unbearable any movment of the camera stutter, I think its shader compilation because it gets better after a while.

Its a shame becuase this one was the showcase for RTX back in the early days and I wanted to replay it now at 4K with HDR patch.
9950X3D and 5090 here, game stutters, glitches and crashes to the point of it being unplayable. Guess I should have built a faster system.

I play at 1440p max graphics + high RT + DLAA and have my FPS capped at 90 which it hits 99% of the time. Problem is the game will all of a sudden drop to single digit FPS as if it's freezing for no apparent reason. This lasts anywhere from 1-10 seconds. I just don't understand what's going on.

You could turn RT off. As for me it helped, any lags and freezes disappeared, but... with RT game looks much more juicy and better anyway.
UPD: game started to suddenly crash without any errors when I press "Continue" button from main menu

Game has a massive fps drops in the same places every single run - under DX12. Under DX11 luckily everything is fine.

At this moment i have a theory that game rebuilds shaders on every run
uhm.... looks like I found something

remove attribute "read only" from Control\data\shaders folder and from all inside files. Probably, game tries to compile shaders, but can't rewrite files due to REad-only status. This made performance a little bit more smooth, but drops didn't go anywhere. At least it's slightly more tolerable

well, this at least worked for me on my PC.
I have a new rig, amd 7800x3d and an rtx 5070 ti. I have the same issue game freez and i have to log out to fix it. I turned off ray tracing and run the game in Ultra settings native, and it seems to work no ray tracing tho..:/
