Got the Game on epic for free but wont open

I installed the game recently and whenever I try to open it I get a popup box saying I need .NET framework 3.5 and when I try to install the feature I get "Windows couldn't find required files to complete the requested changes. Make sure you're connected to Internet, and try again. Error code 0x80070490" I just installed it I have internet... I saw someone say something about specs being weird so Ill just say I have a 4070S and I5 13600k and all my drivers and such are updated.

I never had problems with the Epic version, got it on Steam for the DLC, and never had a problem here, either. But yea, not sure you're gonna find much Epic help. You can probably get it on Steam for >US$10, tho.

But OP: you don't have to run a game to get the framework updates. Get your update more directly if you want. As long as the game sees you've got it, it will run.

that's a really ♥♥♥♥ framework error, it's got a long winded fix which I have tried multiple times in different scenarios without any success. it's easier and quicker to full reinstall windows as that will guaranteed fix the issue.
