You can't buy the DLC on Steam anymore, and there was a Humble Bundle that *said* it included the Ultimate Edition of Control, but it wasn't. You might be able to find Steam keys for them on third party sites, but the full game is on sale on Steam for around US$8-10 a lot of the time. The DLC are great, bkz more Control, but they're not completely necessary, FWIW.

It is 505’s business.
Remedy got IP back, they can sell DLC again.

“In a blog post on February 28, Remedy noted that the maximum purchase price for the Control deal is about €17 million. The payment will be made in three cash transactions during the next 12 months.

€17 million is the exact amount 505 Games has paid the studio for the development of Control 2 and Project Condor to date, including a minor premium.

As a result, all publishing agreements for the existing and future games in the franchise will be terminated. The studio will also get back publishing, distribution, marketing, and other rights to Control 2 and Condor.

505 Games will remain the publisher of the original game until December 31, 2024, also managing existing B2B deals for the IP. But after that, the company won’t be entitled to any royalties from Control.

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala noted that the deal is part of the studio’s “long-term strategy to have more ownership over our business and the IPs.” He added that Condor and Control 2 “have both progressed well in recent months and we expect these projects to reach their next development stages during the first half of 2024.”

afaik you can still buy the DLC upgrade on Humble Bundle, which is also the only place you can buy the base game without the DLC. The version on the Steam store includes the DLC by default.

Still probably cheaper to just remove the Humble version from your Steam account and re-buy the full game here when it's on sale, as per what harken said.

I noticed that on steamdb depots changed from Standard to Ultimate for the humble bundle version, and the size in the library (not downloaded) changed from Standard's ~48 to 42gb (Ultimate was smaller too), so there might be a chance Remedy granted real Ultimate edition for everyone due to an update released today. Can't download right now and not sure how to tell which edition it is now. Can someone check this?

I kind of understand what the OP is going through. It would be perfectly possible for Remedy (now that they own the IP) to fix the mess caused by 505 Games:

A) Sell or make the DLC available for free for those who bought/own the standard edition of Control.
B) Attach the unavailable DLC into the standard edition of Control's packages (keys).

You are right if steamdb is correct.
Everyone got that region free key sub 543422.

I have the HB version. In the Steam client window, it says requires 42GB to install.

I have the HB version and reinstalled the game, still no DLCs unlocked and the graphisms are ugly now

The humble key granted package 543422, which used to contain depot 870782(standard edition). Today, this has been changed to 870781(Ultimate edition).

I don't know if the game still checks for DLC ownership, but at least everyone now uses the same build. however, you may verify game integrity to fetch the new depot.

I already wrote in this topic https://steamcommunity.com/app/870780/discussions/0/597392533415287326/ I have a version from Humble and a couple of weeks ago I completely deleted it from my Steam account, but after reading this news, I have already restored it, maybe the game developers will put this madness in order with different versions of the game and everyone will have the same version.

Unfortunately, last update nothing change for humble version, except graphics features and 3 outfits. Dlcs are still locked.

Looks like they reverted it back to the humble version today:

I hope it is due to the encountered bugs, and eventually they will bring it back with some hotfixes.

Yep, looks like they did bring it back again soon after, but in a more correct way (them swapping depots earlier made Steam break the game - it thought it was applying the patch to Ultimate and not Standard, hence the broken sound, DLC errors, etc). But now they brought back the original depot, then replaced its Standard edition files with updated files.

Now after a full game reinstall the humble version finally became up-to-date ultimate edition (with HDR and RTX ultra in the settings). It has identical size and all, so In theory it could grant DLCs to everyone.
UPD: looks like the real Ultimate editon sub[steamdb.info] has DLC included as separate entities, which means DLC still won't work unless you get them elsewhere. I think (since they recently got their rights back from 505) it is worth asking Remedy on Discord[discord.com] or via this feedback form[fs30.formsite.com] to at least add purchaseable DLC to Steam.

Could someone who don't have DLCs reinstall the game and check for them in-game (if they progressed enough)? Preferably a clean reinstall with manual leftovers deletion: https://steamcommunity.com/app/870780/discussions/0/595143167557291533/

If you had the game installed prior to the update, please try clean reinstall linked above.
