Base game a good experience?
Hi. I only own the base game. Not the ultimate edition.
I want to get into the game now.
Will the base game be a good experience or not?
Do I need the ultimate edition to get a good gaming experience?
What do you think?

As far as general experience, Ultimate Editon doesn't differ from the base game. It just has more content and story.

As loot said, Ultimate has additional chapters, enviroments and aesthetics, but you can regularly finish the main story with the basegame and enjoy it wholly. If you like it you can still continue further with those dlc, but they're just more of the same soup. With the free version given out today (expires in 3h), I'd try it before buy the rest. Have fun with the Madam Director!

The base game is a 10/10. I still have yet to play the dlc but plan to the next time I play through it.

Control is a masterpiece, as are all Alan Wakes and Quantum Break. If you consider yourself a serious gamer, these should be in your library.

Everyone can still be serious gamer without it, cause it depends on the games' genre and styles preferences.

I am sure you do not own something else that is a also masterpiece for whatever reason you put on it, but still be considered a serious gamer.

Yea, especially that it's just a casual story driven game. Actual "serious gamers" don't play games like that too often.

You can no longer buy the dlc, OP the ultimate edition is $8 rn, I'd suggest just buying that to get the dlc.

This game was so much fun. Really enjoyed it. As previously mentioned, DLCs just added more content and story, but were worth the price tag. Grab it while its on sale.
Yeah, the base game is enough and the dlc isn't really worth it unless you really enjoy the gameplay and want more of the lore ::Countermeasure:
The prices makes it an obvious buy. Entertainment value per dollar is through the roof.
