How to defeat the red Angel
Hello,

I am frustrated, how do I defeat the red angel that randomly teleports and almost one-hits me with his breath. How do I know when he is coming and what is the best way to defeat him?

the flying ones? You can use your powers when really close to them, they won't have time to move.

Or use the precision gun (the 1 with 2 shots)
I'm not sure which one you mean. I mean the one that suddenly appears right in front of me, does lots of damage, and then vanishes into dust again.

I already tried dodge/shield, but it doesn't help.

ahhh those, I would just keep something to throw and when they appear release it right away. They were annoying but didn't cause me too much problems.
Okay thanks.

If you look closely you can see the trail they leave in the air as they move. It kinda looks like a distortion. Should help you see where they are going to appear.

Yes you can see them moving, if you look closely.
My strategy with these is to lift up some stuff, wait till it appears and instantly release to deal big damage. Also dash away at the same time to avoid his attacks.
Its not that hard when you can track it and youre prepared.

Ooof, yeah, the Distorted are nasty, but they are quite rare. I recommend switching between levels as much as possible when one is on the battlefield, because it will take them some time to drift invisibly towards and up/down the stairs to where you currently are. This gives you plenty of time to kill everything else nearby.

If you aren't worried about losing some of your upgrade points or time, and have a Control Point close by, you may just want to play around with a Distorted if they are the last thing alive. Not attacking them, but watching how they move, try to practice dodging their attacks, and so on. You'll probably die, yes, more than once and have to repeat the whole thing, but if you can get some practice in there, you won't have to worry about them as much later on.

To really identify an enemy and get a good name, look in your collectibles as most of the hiss are listed if you have attacked them. Maybe if you had not yet defeated a distorted it might not have been listed, but more likely, it would be there.

Having the names is usually easier for people to be sure of which one you are talking about.

As for distorted, they have a decent vulnerability window when they appear for you to attack them, if you are prepping for them and are paying attention to where the filtered space is moving, you can be looking the right way and be ready to shoot when they appear. This sometimes interrupts them, but not every time, so it is usually better to just dash away from them and then start firing at them while their attack whifs.

And as someone above said, if you really keep your eye on the moving air, you can likely work out where they are and shoot at them while they are invisible. If you hit, you can break their invis and keep laying into them to finish them off.

Another method is to find larger furniture that launch can pick up and just telekentic things that are behind where you think the distorted is. If the furniture or trash is large enough and you are right about where the enemy is, then the launch object will hit the enemy as the item comes to your side, and then you will have your lock on to launch the object at the distorted for an easy double hit.

Basically, it's just a matter of getting used to the game. If you suspect you are fighting distorted, just be prepared to dash away from where it might appear because it's attack is very short range.
Distorted Hiss are easy to kill if you get the ability to use a shield. As soon as they appear (you can tell after a while) you throw up the shield to absorb their attack, then counterattack (shoot or throw something at them). Rinse and repeat a few times and they're gone.

Oh, and if you find yourself in battle with them, keep moving a bit so they don't appear super close to you. It's easy, as you can see the distortion as they move around in their "invisible" state.
