Pierce Lvl 3 Bug?

Can't unlock level 3. Did all jukebox missions and im at beginning of foundation. Still cant level up.

I saw this in last years patch notes:

"Fixed issue that prevented players activating the Pierce weapon form upgrade"

I was wondering if this bug is now on Steam version? Anyone having trouble?

is your security clearance access low or high? if its low you can upgrade to 2nd level if its high then you can max it i had to wait until i got higher clearance

Crafting recipes unlock when you have at least one of each resource that they require on-hand (unless something actually is bugged on your end - I haven't had that problem in three playthroughs).

Have you defeated all of the sidequest bosses? Do you have an 'Untapped Potential' resource in your inventory (which is a finite reward that you get for defeating those bosses/turning in their missions and nearly completing the main storyline)? That's usually the missing piece.

I have lvl 6 clearance. I do have untapped potential. I have completed all side mission bosses. I defeated hedron and now shadow hartman so I belive that was the AWE conclusion? I got fake credits than real credits.

I am now just starting foundation. So i was thinking I should be able to upgrade by now? I guess we will see. I also put in a ticket so who knows. If bug was there before and has come back to steam version its at least reported again.

Clearance levels won't have any direct effect on when craftable items unlock - if you have at least one of each resource needed to build it, the option should be on your build-list and all of the level 3 options are available before reaching the end of the main pre-Foundation storyline (Untapped Potential is usually the limiting factor as there's only 6 of them and it shows up the latest).

I don't remember exactly what Pierce 3 requires but you might also check and see if you have any Corrupted Sample and Hidden Trend resources as those are relatively rare compared to other items and easy to run out of.

If you literally have at least one of every non-DLC resource (two per sector plus the three I've mentioned) and it's still not showing up, then yes, there does seem to be a problem.

I have a lot of hidden trend and must be out of corrupted sample as its no longer there. I do remember getting that resource though. I have unlocked all the other weapons to lvl 3 so maybe I just ran out of material for pierce, but I could never even select lvl 3 to even see what was needed to upgrade it. Once it was upgraded to lvl 2 it stopped appearing on the weapons list to upgrade all together.

Oh well. I guess Ill see what happens. Its no big deal as I rarely use it anyway. Thanks for the help!

If it's a C. Sample you're missing for the recipe (again, I don't remember what Pierce 3 needed but it's possible), that might be the problem. If you ran out of Samples before upgrading Pierce to level 2, the game doesn't remember that you had a sample previously and assumes you still need to find one to unlock level 3.

Ahh, it was corrupted sample. I went back to research to kill some mold people. Got 1 and it now lists pierce for upgrade 1/3 mold samples. So looks like I was just missing that! Time to get 2 more. Thanks Again!
