4k resolution

i have a rtx 3080 and a 10700k. I have a 4k tv and everytime i try and drag the window to my tv to play in 4k it wont let me set the resoultion to 4k. it literally resets it self the lowest resolution everytime I back out of the options menu. if I put it on my 1440 monitor i have no issues. Has anyone else had this problem and a fix for it?

Launch Steam Big Picture Mode and go to options > resolution > target display and set it to your 4K TV, then launch the game from there. A lot of times doing that works since it temporarily sets the second display as your main.

Change your primary display to the tv.

Changing it definitely fixed it but it wouldn’t let me do it in game had to do in actual settings for windows.

Very few developers bother to program games to work with anything other than a 16:9 standard pc monitor... because they think we all live in 2010 or something... just be thankful they even acknowledge that 4k resolutions are a thing.

What kind of TV do you have? It might be one where it has a 4096x2160 resolution and it messes with games.
