Shielded Hiss in Dead Letter Room?

I started this game a long time ago and finally made a tiny bit of progress. But I get to this Comm Room mission---I think I'm in Dead Letter Office -- and shielded enemy gets me. Is there any trick to defeating this guy or just run around forever and hope not to get hit? He has a shotgun I'm fairly sure but a walk through calls him Ranged Hiss..not sure why.

I think now I died I have to go recollect all the boxes I opened already? thanks

You're incorrect, things don't reset if you die. No idea where you got that idea, but you can use multi launch to break shields then shoot once the shield breaks. Some regenerate the shield so be quick killing it. Things evolve as you progress in the game, this isn't a game where you fight the same bad guys over and over with no variation. The enemies get smarter and more diverse.

I guess 10% of some resource is lost. Maybe I just missed some boxes earlier so thought they came back. I made it to Tomassi boss and wow, it is tedious. Try again later. I like the story. thanks

No sweat, if it gets really tough you can activate god mode in the game settings to get past a snag.

Tomassi is arguably the toughest boss in the game, given the abilities you have, etc. He's a right bastard. Shields are best taken down by throwing stuff at them with telekinesis, the bigger the item you're throwing, the more damage it does. I'm partial to fire extinguishers and the big metal couches, myself. And of course, rockets and grenades being fired at you by enemies (that comes later).

When you die, you lose 10% of your cash (which I don't remember the name of ATM), but all the other stuff you've picked up or read or whatever is still done. No need to go back and get it again.

Tomassi is only hard if you attempt him early. I didn't find him early on, because I didn't realize I could get side quests from emily pope at the time. When I went back after completing the game, I killed him first try with zero damage taken.

Now see this is interesting because I feel like I'm following a path but then I see other people took their own way but I guess I'm afraid of being under-powered to go off on too many side missions, even though I like exploring. Anyway, this guy took many tries but I'm way past it in Maintenance and Furnace area and back at NSC Control room that for some reason took me forever to find again.

Haha yeah I'm in post game and just now finding this mission. I had to look it up actually and can't believe i missed it. I couldn't imagine doing this mission that early. Definitely a tougher boss.
