And yes, Control is about the world of conspiracies and the supernatural, so "WTF is going on here" plot twists will continue to happen. Some of the questions will not even be resolved.
As for the gameplay, it will become less boring when you acquire telekinesis, levitation, and other abilities. But not by much - sadly, fights in this game (at least with regular enemies) lack variety and quickly become repetitive. There is no stealth (except a couple of special places), only platforming and a few puzzles. So, it's a far cry from Dishonored or Prey.
Thanks, awesome answer. Would you say it's worth playing?
Are you a fan of those too?
Control is a huge Experience in the video game. It is reserved for informed public. It is not a generic game. Your first contact looks like very bad, you should avoid this game. You are not the director.
I will avoid this game. Thank you.
Yes, I totally am. Especially Fringe, even though it went off the rails.
Ok, I'll continue playing. It doesn't help that I'm at 2.1 hours and over the time limit by like nothing. Steam can be VERY strict when it comes to returning money.
I obviously just started playing and I am the director. Dude is dead, the pistol answers to me, and now my picture is displayed everywhere as the head of the Bureau. That is literally what happened in the game thus far and it's immersion-killing because the change of pictures happened during a lock-down crisis where most of the staff are possessed and the others are apparently locked in safe shelters. You don't need to give out spoilers just to argue the point I'm making so you can cherry-pick the argument, disregard everything I'm saying and only focus on the one point you can argue.
So...something supernatural happening in a supernatural game is 'immersion-killing?' That's certainly a take.
If that has you too weirded out to play it, maybe you should stop now. It doesn't get any less weird.
Nothing in this game is plausible.
That being largely the point. The Oldest House is a place in between dimensions. Or is it realities? Or dream/wake cycles?
I think that's plausible.
