Does the game get better?
I'm having so much trouble getting into it. I don't understand half of what is going on. One minute you're trying to find out about your brother from the agency that took him. The next, you're the director and all the pictures magically changed to show you're director, in the middle of a crisis. That makes no sense. I bought this game because I love other Arkane titles, but this seems like a boring shooter thus far.

Do you think the game is worth keeping?

I'm not sure what Arkane has to do with Control. The game was made by Remedy Entertainment - a studio behind Max Payne and Alan Wake (Control and Alan Wake happen in the same universe, btw).

And yes, Control is about the world of conspiracies and the supernatural, so "WTF is going on here" plot twists will continue to happen. Some of the questions will not even be resolved.

As for the gameplay, it will become less boring when you acquire telekinesis, levitation, and other abilities. But not by much - sadly, fights in this game (at least with regular enemies) lack variety and quickly become repetitive. There is no stealth (except a couple of special places), only platforming and a few puzzles. So, it's a far cry from Dishonored or Prey.

Thanks, awesome answer. Would you say it's worth playing?

For me - definitely yes. I've finished Control Ultimate Edition (I own it on EGS) and it was very cool, reminding me of X-Files, Fringe, and similar shows. I like that supernatural/conspiracy stuff.

Are you a fan of those too?

Hi,
Control is a huge Experience in the video game. It is reserved for informed public. It is not a generic game. Your first contact looks like very bad, you should avoid this game. You are not the director.

I will avoid this game. Thank you.

Control is the best video game I've ever played. Both DLC are great, as well (which you get if you buy it on Steam). Turn on Aim Snapping.

Yes, I totally am. Especially Fringe, even though it went off the rails.

Ok, I'll continue playing. It doesn't help that I'm at 2.1 hours and over the time limit by like nothing. Steam can be VERY strict when it comes to returning money.

I obviously just started playing and I am the director. Dude is dead, the pistol answers to me, and now my picture is displayed everywhere as the head of the Bureau. That is literally what happened in the game thus far and it's immersion-killing because the change of pictures happened during a lock-down crisis where most of the staff are possessed and the others are apparently locked in safe shelters. You don't need to give out spoilers just to argue the point I'm making so you can cherry-pick the argument, disregard everything I'm saying and only focus on the one point you can argue.

So...something supernatural happening in a supernatural game is 'immersion-killing?' That's certainly a take.

If that has you too weirded out to play it, maybe you should stop now. It doesn't get any less weird.

I don't mind weird, as long as it's plausible.

Nothing in this game is plausible.

That being largely the point. The Oldest House is a place in between dimensions. Or is it realities? Or dream/wake cycles?

I think that's plausible.

Are dreams plausible?
